Our learning in April
Our class text this half term is Skellig by David Almond.
We have read the first 10 chapters of the book and spent time thinking about what he had learnt about the character 'Skellig'. We sorted these ideas into things we new because they had been said and things that we had inferred from what had been written.
We also wrote newspaper articles about the discovery of Skellig in the garage by Michael. We have focused on keeping the correct tense in our writing and using the passive voice.
In Maths we have been solving one and two step problems. We have been using RUCSAC to help us.
In CCCS we have been completing our 'You are capable of amazing things' flutter. We have been learning about the importance of the NHS and the variety of jobs available in the NHS. We wrote letters as if we were applying for jobs within the NHS.
We also created some street art to say Thank You for the amazing work that they NHS have done for us.
In Science we have been learning about Evolution and Inheritance. Inheritance is the characteristics that you inherit from your parents through your DNA.
