April 2022

Welcome back!

It was lovely to welcome Exeter Class back to school after a relaxing Easter break. We are looking forward to a fantastic summer term full of exciting learning opportunities.

Aspirations Week

Our first 'Flutter' this half-term was called 'Dreams Can Come True' where we thought about what we would like to achieve in our future lives. We were lucky to have a fire-fighter visit us and tell us about his job - we even tried on his hat!

In class, we took part in lots of career-based activities such as:

Taking fingerprints like police officers...

Looking after poorly teddies like doctors and nurses...

... and unlocking fire-engines using keys and padlocks.

Promises, rainbows and animals

In R.E we have been reading stories about promises, including the story of Noah and how God sent a rainbow. We used our maths skills to sort and count all the rubber animals then worked together to make our own colourful animal rainbow in our garden.

Trip to the Planetarium

We had an exciting day visiting the planetarium in Greenwich. We travelled by train and had a really long walk up the hill. We watched a great show in the planetarium all about the planets in our solar system. We also looked at space photos, ate lunch, drew pictures of earth and participated in a moon-walking workshop. It was such a fun but tiring day!
