Black History Month - Heritage Celebration 23/09/2019
In class they wrote about Mary Seacole, who like Florence Nightingale, looked after soldiers during the Crimean War.
They also completed pieces of homework based on a Black Briton of thier choice who had/has made positive impact/contribution to society. These ranged from authors like Mallorie Blackman, who was also a previous Children's Laureate to stars of sport, TV and film to former slaves like Mary Peters who fought to bring an end to slavery in the UK and UK-owned plantations across the globe.
