Amazing African Adventures
We have been learning all about Africa for our butterfly this term. In Literacy, we have been reading the story 'Anna Hibiscus' Song.' This story is about a girl who lives in Africa and she is feeling so happy that she asks her family what they do when they are happy, after trying all of her families happiness actions, she discovers that when she is happy she likes to sing.
Also in the story, she tries to help her Aunties make pounded yam. We learnt how to make pounded yam. We wrote a ingredient list and instructions for making pounded yam.
Maths: Number track games
In maths, we have been practising our counting. We have focused on counting up one at a time and stopping on out stopping number. We used number tracks inside and outside to help us.
On Monday 17th January, it was Martin Luther King Day. The whole school celebrated this day by learning about different significant historical figures. Lincoln class, were learning about Princess Diana. We learnt that she did a lot of work for charities, which helped lots of children and she also visited hospitals. In the afternoon, we made our own crowns.
