Our Learning in January
We have been using the video Titanium as a stimulus for our writing. The story is all about a boy that has a bad day at school. We spent time rewriting the story, including powerful vocabulary and dialogue.
In maths we have been learning to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions, solve algebraic equations and use algebra to solve problems.
Our Science topic is Living Things and Their Habitats. We have learnt how to classify species using the Linnaean system – a way of sorting animals devised by Carl Linnaeus.
In computing, we have been using the program Scratch.
We have started our new CCCS butterfly called Samba Down the Nile. We have found out about Brazil, written a postcard home and designed our own carnival masks.
We have been completing PE at home, designing our own workouts and practicing our workouts with Joe Wicks.
