Our learning in June
This half term we have been looking at modal verbs (verbs that indicate degrees of possibility: must, should, could), presentation features (headings, sub-headings, bullet points) and there use within instruction texts and reports. We have written about how to care for a mythical creature and prepared advice for children who are about to start in Year 6.
This half term we have been focusing on problem solving. We have solved problems using division (ratio, proportion, scaling), conversion of measures (imperial and metric) and calculating area and volume.
We have watched a presentation about railway safety. We used the information that we found out to make a safety poster for younger children.
We have been using our Computing sessions to research about the Olympics. We found information about the history of the Olympic Games, the sports that happen in the Olympic Games and facts about some of the famous athletes who have competed in the games.
We have also been completing the transition project: Be awesome, Go BIG. This is helping us to become ready for Secondary School.
We have been learning cricket with coach and have taken part in Sports Day!
