March 2021
Maths
In maths, we have been learning about fractions. Over the course of this month, we have mastered comparing and ordering fractions and find their equivalent percentage and decimal. As well as, adding, subtracting and multiplying fractions with different denominators. We have even tackled mixed numbers and improper fractions too! Some of us took on the challenge of trying to find missing numerators or denominators in a question - this was very tricky!
Science
In Science, we have been learning about the topic of 'living things and their habitats'.
We looked at Jane Goodall and the amazing work that she did and created persuasive posters in an attempt to 'raise money' for the Chimpanzee's. We have also been learning about the different life cycles of amphibians, insects, birds, plants and mammals! A fun fact that we learnt is that there are only two monotremes (mammals that lay eggs), these are the platypus and the echidna!
RE
In our RE lessons this month, we have been learning all about Humanism. We learnt that Humanism is a belief system, rather than a religion - although, one of their main beliefs is to respect all religions!
We looked at what Humanists belief, what they value and what makes them happy! Did you know that Humanists believe we only have one life and so we should always do what makes us happy?
