Bug Fest!

For our CCCS Butterfly, we have been learning all about bugs. In Literacy we read the story 'Aaaarrgghh, Spider' and 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. 

The Life Cycle of a Butterfly

We have learnt about the life cycle of a caterpillar. We used different shaped pasta, pom poms and paper plates to show the life cycle of a butterfly. The pom pom was the egg on a leaf, the spiral pasta was the caterpillar, the shell pasta was the cocoon and the bow pasta was the butterfly. 

Butterfly paintings

We used different coloured paint to make symmetrical butterflies. We painted one side of the paper and then folded the paper in half to make the pattern the same on each side of the butterfly. 

Maths

In maths, we have been exploring different ways to make the number 10.
