November 2020

Our learning in November

This term we have started wring stories with flashbacks. We started the unit by writing a story that started with a boy who was late for school – again.

We then used ‘The Piano’ by Aiden Gibbons as a starting point for a story with a flashback. The story is all about a man who was in the army who is playing the piano remembering his wife. We used precise expanded noun phrases to explain what was happening in the story.

In our maths work we have been interpreting information from line charts and pie charts, recognising and using the place value of decimal numbers (up to 3 decimal places) within our problem solving and have learnt lots about fractions.

The Last of the Oba’s

Our CCCS topic has been Last of the Oba’s. We have been learning about Benin. We located some of the places linked to Benin on a world map. We wrote about the history of Benin and created a timeline showing the important events.

Remembrance Day

On Remembrance Day we drew poppies using pastels. These were inspired the work of Georgia O’Keeffe.

Spotty Day

For Children in Need, we all wore something Spotty.

Odd Socks Day

We started Anti Bullying Week by wearing odd socks to school. Take a look at how different our feet look.
