November 2021!
Yo-Ho-Ho! It's a Pirates Life for me!
This half term we started our new butterfly and have been learning all about pirates. We have been reading the story 'The Night Pirates'. The story is about a little boy called Tom, who one night goes on an adventure with little pirates who took the front of his house to disguise their pirate ship. They sailed to an Island where the grown up pirates were sleeping and they take their treasure. Our favourite line is when Captain Patch (a grown up pirate) shouts to the little pirates "If you don't give my treasure back, I am going to tell my mum!"
Visit to Christ Church
This November, we went on our first school trip to our local Church. The children walked sensibly down to the church and enjoyed exploring the inside of the church and meeting Mrs Taylor.
Bonfire Night
We learnt about Bonfire Night which some people celebrate every year in November. We described what fireworks look and sound like. We then made our own firework picture by rolling a marble across black paper and paint.
Remembrance Day
Lincoln class created poppies using their hands for Remembrance Day. Lincoln class learnt that Remembrance Day happens every year and on the day people remember all the soldiers who have helped to protect people. On the 11th November, we joined the rest of the school in a 2 minute silence.
Odd Socks Day
On the 15th November, we wore odd socks to mark the start of Anti-Bullying week. We spoke about how to be a good friend and discussed we were wearing odd socks to celebrate that everyone is different and unique.
Children in Need
On the 19th November, the children wore spots to school to raise money for Children in Need. We discussed that the money we raise helps children.
Nature Explorers
Lincoln had the first trip to our forest area this month, which is located at the bottom of our field. The children enjoyed exploring the mud kitchen, bug hotel and swinging on the tyre.
