October 2021

What a busy October it has been for Oxford Class. The whole class have worked really hard learning their sounds. The last sound we learnt was 'w'. The class were really impressed with Mr Loryman's drawing of a worm for this sound! In maths were have been learning to recognise the numbers 1 to 5. We greatly enjoyed today's maths lesson when we helped Numberblock 4 by using multilink cubes to help him think about the different patterns he could show.

In RE we have been learning about our local churches and why Christian's mean by the word 'Holy'. This lead to a really interesting discussion, with some great ideas including that 'songs about Jesus' could be Holy. We also spent some time decorating crosses, of the kind we might see in Christian churches.

We have also been exploring creative skills in Expressive Arts and Design. The children enjoyed using stamps made out of vegetables to create pictures of stars. One of our pictures has been submitted for the Mayor of Bexley's Christmas card competition!
