We have had lots of fun finding out about the Jewish harvest festival called Sukkot. At this time Jewish people give thanks for all the crops and remember when they lived as a wandering group in the desert, living in tents. We decided to make our own 'sukkahs' to sit in and decorate.
We collected leaves, vegetables flowers to decorate the sukkahs:
We used draped materials over our tables to make the sukkahs:
Autumn has truly arrived and Exeter Class went on an autumn walk around the school to collect some leaves and seeds for our autumn craft. We found some sycamore seeds which fly like helicopters if you throw them up in the air!
Police Officers in Exeter!
As part of our topic about people who help us, we crafted our own police badges. Here are some of our 'officers' sporting their very own badges:
We celebrated our harvest festival in school this month. The families of Exeter class were very generous with their donations for our local foodbank - thank you everybody.
Story Time with Otis
We were very excited when Otis came to visit us for a story time. He brought Mrs Ball, the Principal, with him to share a story with us. Otis and all the children were very well-behaved and showed good listening skills. After the story, we petted Otis and gave him some treats for being good.
It has been another very busy month in Exeter Class and we are all looking forward to our half-term holiday.
Check back in November to see the next stage of our learning journey!
