In our English lessons we have been watching the video clip 'Roads End.' We have spent time identifying the characters emotions in the text and thinking about how the atmosphere has been created. We discussed how suspense had been conveyed. We also spent time discussing the main events in the video. We then used this knowledge to write our own introduction to this exciting tale and to report the event in our own newspaper reports.

In Maths, we have been focusing on securing our place value. We have read, wrote, ordered and compared numbers up to 10,000,000 and we have identified the value of digits in these large numbers.

In RE we have been looking at the importance of creation on the big story of the Bible. We have studied Genesis 1 and what this tells us about creation. Following this we investigated other theories of creation – Cosmology and Evolution. For both we drew images to help develop our understanding.

In Science we have been learning about classification. We learnt about the work of Carl Linnaeus, who developed a system of classification for all living things by using similar characteristics. To help us to understand this we grouped biscuits by characteristics they had in common and recorded these on a diagram.
