Easter Church Service
To celebrate the end of Lent (within school and the Spring term!) pupils and staff from Christ Church walked down to our local church to share an Easter service with local vicar Rev. Robert Ratcliffe and our Chair of Governors Mrs Taylor. Pupils sang a selection of traditional and modern worship songs, and shared readings from the story book: The Garden, The Curtain and the Cross.
Leading Light Pupils lead the service, with Year 5 pupils reading the 'Big Story', from the creation of the Garden of Eden, the life of Jesus and the hope of our future with God.
Pupils also shared prayers of intercession for our school, our local community, our government and leaders and for the wider Christian church. We also offered prayers for those on the fringes of our local community; the lonely, the homeless and those less fortunate.
The main talk focused on the words of the song 'One more step along the world I go' and that as part of the bigger Church story, we each have our part to play in celebrating the life of Jesus and the love of God.
