Message from the Principal

Dear Parents/Carers

May I welcome you and your child to Christ Church (Erith) Church of England Primary School.  We all hope this will be the beginning of a long and happy partnership.

We are proud that in our last Ofsted we are described as an “OUTSTANDING” school.  Please read the full report which is available on this website.  Key points state that ‘Across the school, pupils’ achievement is outstanding and progress over time in reading, writing and mathematics is excellent’ and ‘Outstanding teaching supports the very strong progress pupils make in their learning across the classes and key stages’

We are a very happy school, where children, staff, families and the Diocese work together to provide an exciting and caring learning environment  Together we value and care for each other, our school and ourselves.  Ofsted state that ‘Pupils are extremely caring, thoughtful and considerate, succeeding in following the school’s values of respect, honesty, forgiveness and joy.  Pupils of all backgrounds, cultures and faiths work and play together very harmoniously’.

Our school has an innovative, and creative curriculum called the 'Christ Church Curriculum Safari' which we created and have developed ourselves.  People come from all over the country to see what we are doing at Christ Church.  We feel very honoured.

We are also blessed with beautiful grounds and accommodation, and a wonderful community of people supporting what goes on.

We always strive to do the best for our children, and seek to improve our school every year.  We do place great importance on achieving well academically; however, we believe that education is more than that.  It is about giving children a true love of learning, and nurturing independent and creative thinkers. Our School Vision encapsulates this and underpins everything we do.

We are fortunate enough to have a Foundation Stage Centre which will provide the best learning environment for 4 – 5 year olds.  Our dedicated staff create a stimulating, safe and caring environment, and I am sure your child will settle quickly, benefiting from the education that we are offering.

My best wishes to you and your child at the beginning of their formal education.

Yours faithfully

Mrs Gillian Ball
