The Highway Rat

 

York class began our English lesson by listening to the story of 'The Highway Rat'. We looked at the story map and sequenced the events. Next we changed the setting of our story and used adjectives to describe them. The children wrote 'The Highway Rat could see the waves crashing. He could feel the soft sand. Next they innovated the character to a crab. Our story was now called 'The Beach Crab'. The children used adjectives again to describe the crab. The children wrote 'The Beach Crab has sharp pincers.
