Truro's June blog 25/6/2021

Welcome to Truro's June class blog!

We have been really busy over these past few weeks and we are very excited to share our work with you.

Design and Technology

In Design and Technology we have been creating our very own olympic medal podiums from a range of different materials. Our butterfly is 'Unity in Diversity' which is all about this years olympics. We used a range of materials, such as: pasta, bubble wrap, card, straws, tinfoil and lolly sticks. We were given a design brief to create a pdoium that could hold our olympians for more than 30 seconds.

English

In English, we have been writing our very own playscripts. This was a new type of writing to us and we found it really interesting looking at the different features of a play script. The features of a play script we had to include in our writing was: stage directions, colons after characters' name and including a character list. We have really enjoyed this and we got to create our very own Horrid Henry play scripts. Down below you can see some of our amazing play scripts.

RE

In RE, we have been learning about Sikhism. We have been focussing on the key question ‘How do Sikh's worship and celebrate?'

We have looked at where Sikh's worship, the Gurdwara and the different ways they show respect for their beliefs. We have found out that Sikh's can worship and pray at anytime and anywhere as they believe that their God is everywhere. We have really enjoyed learning about Sikhism so far and we look forward to finding out more.
