January 2022

This month we have been busy with tasks linked to our butterfly 'Roaming Romans'. We wrote newspaper articles about the Roman invasion of Britain.

We also had a debate in history. 'Imagine you are an Ancient Briton. Will your tribe join forces with Queen Boudicca to fight the Roman legions?'

As well as that, we have been measuring in maths this month! We had to design a chariot for a Roman themed carousel ride at a Fun Park. We had to decide the dimensions of the chariot for our ride and in order to state the dimensions, we had to measure children's heights, feet length, knee to floor length and wrist to elbow length. We also had to decide how wide the chariot should be to hold two children and how much weight the chariot had to hold.

After that, we created a timetable for the ride.
