Welcome Worship - September 2021

Reading from 1 John

chapter 4 verses 7–16

Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.

By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father has sent his Son as the Saviour of the world. God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God. So we have known and believe the love that God has for us.

God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them.

This is word of the Lord.

ALL: Thanks be to God.

New to School Poem

Welcome to our wonderful school,

The joy of education lies at your feet,

You’re going to learn oh so much,

And amazing people you will meet

You’re sure to feel quite nervous,

Butterflies fluttering in your tum,

Not wanting to walk through the door,

Stay safe at home with mum

Please let me reassure you,

Our school’s a lovely place,

Lots of friendly teachers,

With smiles upon their faces

They’ll help you to settle in,

Show you where things are,

They’ll be supportive and oh so praising,

Make you feel like a superstar

You’ll soon find your way around,

And make many friends,

You’ll enjoy your time at Christ Church,

Your creative learning journey never ends...

By Mrs Phillips

Let us pray

Christ, who came to Earth as a baby,

bless our families and children.

Christ, who grew into a young boy,

give courage and boldness to our new pupils.

Christ, who followed the teachings of the Father,

give wisdom to our pupils and teachers.

Christ, who grew in faith,

give our children opportunities to learn more about you.

Christ, whose resurrection will lead to everlasting life,

give hope to all who love you.

Jesus, you know us and love us,

share our lives and hear our prayer.

Amen.
