May 2021

We have been involved in lots of fantastic fun activities in our Christ Church Subject Safari over the past month.

We studied the work of the artist, Hokusai and looked at his block print of 'Two Fish'. Here are some of our own charcoal creations, based on the artist's work.

In our science lessons, we spent time learning about the parts of a plant and their function and then we had to play a swaps game to find all the parts of the life cycle of a flowering plant. We enjoyed swapping our cards with others to complete the life cycle diagram.

In Design Technology, we designed and made bridges out of paper. We had a design brief that linked with the work we were doing in our 'local area' geography lessons.

English lessons have also been great fun. We wrote non-chronological reports about dragons.

Then, in music lessons, we learnt about formal notation - quavers, crotchets and rests. We spent a noisy afternoon playing our own compositions.
