January 2022

Welcome to Wells Class January blog!

We have had lots of fun in school this January.

Here are some of the things we have been up to.

English

In English we have been reading a selection of books by Roald Dahl and have written narratives based on 'The Twits'.

Before reading the story, Miss Goodson read us the description of Mr and Mrs Twit without showing us their pictures. We all thought they would look quite different but horrific.

We have also started looking at The Enormous Crocodile.

We created part of a story map and have really enjoyed writing lots of different things about The Enormous Crocodile.

Maths

In maths we have covered lots of different topics.

We have done lots of work on our 2d and 3d shapes and brushed up on our problem solving skills.

We looked at lots of different objects in our class room and had a shape hunt to see all the different shapes we have around us.

Science

Our focus in Science has been on plants and we have been able to observe them as they grow.

We decided to see if our beans could grow without soil. We planted beans in a plastic bag with paper towel and water.

We put one bag of beans in Miss Goodson’s cupboard to see how different conditions would affect their growth!

We hope you enjoyed reading our January blog!

See you very soon for February’s :)
