Welcome to our February blog!

English

We started the month by looking at The Enormous Crocodile. We used this story to create our own story. We really enjoyed thinking of our own characters and endings.

We have now started reading the story 'The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark'.

We have explored the text and how Plop, the main character, was feeling throughout the story.

Maths

In maths we have been working out lots of word problems so we can use the skills we have been learning in class throughout the year

. We have been using arrays and bar models to helps us work out our answers.

Engineering week

During engineering week, we looked at Isambard Kingdom Brunel and tried to create bridges out of paper and tape. It was very tricky but we worked in teams to try and create the strongest bridge we could.
