Amazing Salisbury
English
In English this half term we have been learning about Non-Chronological reports. Our original report was all about ‘Teachers’.Throughout the course of our English lesson we analysed a variety of reports, discussing their layout and identifying the type of language used such as technical vocabulary. Following this we then created our own report for Mrs Ball all about students.
Maths
In maths this term, we have been developing our understanding of fractions and decimals. We used manipulatives to help us to visualise fractions that were equivalent, shaded images and drew diagrams. We then took it a step further and developed our knowledge by comparing and ordering fractions.
PESHR
In PESHR this half term, we have been focussing on how important it is to get enough sleep. It was no surprise that we found out that a lack of sleep can affect our health.
We created posters explaining how important sleep is and how it affects our health.
Safari Week
We have really enjoyed taking part in a range of activities during the last week of term. Our favourite was putting our design and technology skills to the test. This involved making, designing and then evaluating our finished product. The product that we created was a lighthouse; we decided to make a lighthouse because it linked in nicely with our science topic this term, electricity! We knew how to create a complete simple circuit and that when we did the bulb would light. Guess what we used to light our lighthouse?
