Truro's April blog 28/4/21

Welcome to Truro's April class blog!

We are all so glad to be back at school after the Easter holidays and have been up to some really exciting things in the past two weeks.

Science

In Science this term we are learning about plants. This week we have planted our very own sunflower seeds and we are very excited to watch them grow. We have set up an investigation and we are focusing on what the different plants need to grow. We are going to be watching our seeds very closely over the next four weeks to see how they change and how the different factors are impacting our plants.

English

In English this term we are focusing on fables, we have really enjoyed reading our model text 'The Girl and the Fox'.

At the beginning of our writing unit we made our very own story map as a class. We worked in groups to create the pictures for each paragraph of the story. This helped us to familiarise ourselves with the story well and to use the key language that we had included in our story maps, in our writing.

We have now written our very own fables that include: animals, speech, fronted adverbials, adverbs and a moral. See some of our amazing writing below.

PESHR

In our PESHR lessons we have been thinking our goals for the future and the steps we can take to get there. We have created our very own goal ladders that show us the steps that we need to create to reach our own goals. We all had fantastic ideas, you can see some of our work here.

CCCS: Geography

In our Geography lessons we have been learning about the local area and we drew our very own map of the local area. We were also thinking about the positive and negative things that the local area has to offer. We came up with lots of great ideas about what services are here.
