York's November Blog

Science: In Science York Class have been looking at the Seasons and how they change. First we discovered the different Seasons Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer. Then we observed what happened to tress across the four seasons. We walked around our school grounds and found what signs of Autumn we could spot. We saw brown and red leaves on the floor, tress without leaves and discovered it was windy, so we needed to wrap up warm. Next we found out what animals began to hibernate in Autumn. We looked at how hedgehogs hibernated until Spring.

Our CCCS topic is called Top Hats and Tails, we have been discovering the Victorian era. We have sorted olden and modern day toys. We listened to Victorian music, which we thought we could not dance to. We then listened to the song 'London Bridge is falling down' and we sang the song whilst we clapped to the beat.

In English we have been looking at instructions. First we looked at what ingredients we need to make a gingerbread man and how to mix the ingredients. We focused on imperative verbs, as we made them. Next we focused on the imperative verbs we needed to roll, cut, and cook the gingerbread men. They tasted delicious. We also looked at a healthy alternative snack and made a fruit salad. We used the words cut, slice, peel and chop.

Come and see what we have been up to.
