What do Living Things Need to Survive? - 18/9/19

For our new topic 'Animals including humans', we discussed the terms 'needs' and 'wants'. We agreed that a need is something we must have to survive. A want is something we would like to have but it is not essential to surviving. 

 

During our lesson, we went outside to see if we could find any living creatures to examine. After finding a variety of insects. birds and flies, we discissed the needs these creatues must have.

 

The children came up with some excellent answers such as: water, food and the sun (for warmth).
