York's July Blog
York class children have been very busy through July. In English we looked at rhyming couplets in poems. The children innovated the poem and created their own versions. They wrote sentences such as, There was a happy cat. Who sat on a blue mat. In maths, York class looked at place value. The children looked at numbers up to 100. They used maths language to describe the value. There are 7 tens and 6 ones in 76. In science, the children have been discovering the Seasons of the year. We looked at daylight and shadows. The children enjoyed drawing around their shadows in the play ground. We also had a 101 Things To Do Before You Leave Christ Church. The children practised how to hula hoop and saw how far they could fly a paper aeroplane.
Christ Church held a 'Christ Church Got Talent and one of our boys entered, fingers crossed.
Thank you for all the hard work and dedication your children have shown this year, it has been a pleasure to teach them. I wish them the best for Year 2. Thank you for supporting your child at home with extra reading and homework.
