World Book Day

This month we celebrated world book day! The whole school came dressed in amazing costumes from their favourite books and completed a variety of activities throughout the day.

We had the opportunity to join up with Hereford Class (Year 1) and take part in a 'book buddy' reading session. This gave the children the opportunity to share their favourite books with each other but also allow them to bond over the love of reading. Lichfield Class stepped up to the plate and did a great job reading to the Year 1s as well as helping them read. We also watched a BBC Teach Live Lesson, which gave us interactive support about reading for pleasure. Schools from around the world watched on as authors and children were interviewed about their magical ideas.

PGL/Fun week

Some of us from Year 5 were fortunate enough to attend the Year 5 residential trip this month at PGL Liddington. The children had an amazing (albeit tiring) week, challenging themselves to try new things. From overcoming their fear of heights on the giant swing and building a raft to sail across the lake, to learning how to survive in outdoor conditions, the children had an experience that they will not forget in a hurry!

The children that stayed at school also had an amazing week! They were lucky enough to have two swimming sessions on Tuesday - one of which including them learning important water safety life skills. They also had a fun day in the sun when they ventured to the swing park and had some well-earnt free time.
