St Albans' October Blog

Welcome to our October Blog!

English

In English, we have been continuing to learn about traditional tales. But we have been reading traditional tales with a twist written by Bethan Woollvin. In her stories, they do not end how we would expect them to. We have read Rapunzel, Little Red and Hansel and Gretal. We then wrote our own traditional tale with a twist.

Maths

In maths, we have been practising our addition and subtraction skills. We have been learning how to add two, two-digit numbers using bar model and column method. We have also learnt how to identify key information from a word problem to help us figure out whether we need to add or subtract, we used this knowledge to match word problems to bar models.

Science/DT

In science, we have been learning the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. We learnt that having a balanced diet contributes to having a healthy lifestyle. So, we designed and made our own healthy fruit faces.
