John 3:16. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."

We have reached the final month of 2022 and what a special month it is! Rochester Class have continued to work hard through the final weeks of this term.

English

We have continued to focus on our class text, The London Eye Mystery, and we have enjoyed listening to the story unfold. The children have retold part of the story from another perspective, and they were challenged to include a number of writing skills. We also wrote setting descriptions, describing the view from The Eye. We used ambitious vocabulary and wrote some powerful pieces.

Maths

This month we finished working on fractions and then moved onto percentages. We have been learning to find percentages of amounts and have been challenged to solve real life problems related to percentages.

‘Tis The season to be Jolly…

We have enjoyed getting into the Christmas spirit, and we have thoroughly enjoyed watching the nativities across the school. We had a great time visiting the church, where we had the opportunity to look at the wonderful Christmas trees and even spotted our own Christchurch tree! We have been practising for our Year 6 Christmas Service at the church and look forward to retelling the Christian story of Christmas through poetry and song. We are looking forward to seeing you there to share this special service with us.

Year 6 made paper ballet fairies after listening to and exploring the classical music produced by Tchaikovsky for the Nutcracker.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
