English

In English this half term, we have been learning about Non-Chronological reports. Our original report was all about ‘Teachers’.Throughout the course of our English lessons we analysed a variety of reports, discussing their layout and identifying the type of language used such as technical vocabulary. Following this we then created our own report for Mrs Ball all about ‘Students’.

Maths

In math, we have been learning about time. We were shocked to find out that there were 1440 minutes in a day. We loved converting the time from 12 to 24 hours and applied this to our daily lives.

Science

In science, we have been learning about electricity. We began by looking at what appliances run on electricity, then we created a simple circuit. We loved it so much that we decided to make our own switches. We then brought in our DT skills and made a lighthouse, which had to contain a simple circuit.

History

We have been learning all about the Anglo Saxons. We were shocked to find out that they lived without electricity! We designed our own settlement and made runes(Anglo Saxon alphabet) out of a clay like substance.
