June blog!
 

Welcome to our June blog. We have had a really exciting start to our last half term in Year 2 and we hope you enjoy looking at what we've been up to. 

English

In English we have been reading the story of 'Leon and the Place Between' by Grahame Baker-Smith. It is a story set in the circus and is about a young boy called Leon who wants his siblings to believe in magic too. 

We spent a lot of time exploring the front cover and pictures, making inferences and predictions, and then began writing about the story. 

We have written letters, diary entries, narratives and interview questions. Our writing really has been amazing. 

CCCS

In CCCS, we explored the artist Matisse and his collection of Jazz artwork. We particularly focused on his technique 'painting with scissors' and the artwork 'Le Cirque'. This links perfectly to our butterfly 'The Show Must Go On'.

Sports Day

Lastly, we had a super fun day competing in Sports Day activities. Thank you to Mr Elliott and Miss Rose for organising it all.
