Adding and Subtracting- 17/1/20

In maths, we have been learning to add and subtract numbers using a number line and the bar model.

 

We know that that with addition the two numbers are part wholes and are added together to make the whole number. We learnt that the two part whole numbers can go either way as they make the same whole.

 

We learnt that with subtraction the whole number goes first (biggest number) otherwise we will be going into negative numbers.
