June 2022

June has been an exciting month. We have completed our final assessments and took part in fun jubilee celebrations.

English

In English, we have been we have been identifying the features of fantasy stories. We used the model text of Reilly. This was about a boy who was taken to a mysterious land by a flying trolley. If only he had a magic cloak to save him!

We then went on to innovate and invent our own fantasy story. We loved having a discussion on what mythical creatures we could include.

Maths

In maths, we have been recapping our learning on translation and coordinates. We had a go at creating our own coordinate grid. We then had to plot the coordinates of different triangles. We learnt that we should always go through the door (x-axis) and then up the stairs (y-axis).

RE

In RE, we have been learning about Hinduism and how they celebrate their religion. We were inspired by the Holi festival as it looked a lot of fun, and we were excited to find out the meaning behind the different colours of the powder.
