Welcome to our April blog!

After a well deserved break we have returned to school ready to learn. We hope you enjoy looking at some of our work.

English

In English we have been reading 'Lila and the Secret of Rain' by David Conway and Jude Daly. It is the story of a young girl named Lila who lives in a Kenyan village and is desperate for the rain to come. 

We have been learning the story through our story map.

Maths

In maths we have been adding and subtracting 2-digit numbers using pictorial methods. We also used our transferable skills of understanding place value to work out our answers. 

Science

In Science we have been looking at materials. In Year 2 we need to investigate which materials bend, stretch, twist and squash. 

We used lots of different materials such as plastic, metal, and wood.
