January 2021

I wanted to start this blog post by saying how proud I am of Leicester Class. With the national lockdown forcing the majority of children to stay at home and complete their learning online, we have show resilience and perserverance to continue with our education.

English

In English, we have been able to learn and create our own folk tale in order to teach children to reach their full potential. We started by discussing the tale of Fly, Eagle Fly!, where the author used direct speech to develop the plot. We looked at how to punctuate speech correctly, before applying it to our own writing.

Maths

In maths, we continued to use place value and known facts of multiplication to solve problems in context. We then begun to convert between different units of time as well as comparing times of 12 and 24 hour clocks.

CCCS

In CCCS, we started looking at the different climates around the world. We then focussed on North America to create our own fact files based on a different country, comparing them to our own climate in London. In regligious education, we looked at what the gospel teaches Christians, and how the teachings of Jesus would impact the lives of a Christian today.
