Chester's December Blog - 18/12/20

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

In the lead up to Christmas, we have been very busy with lots of different activities.

As usual the hall was decorated ready for Christmas. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were tasked with creating their Christmas hoops based on Christmas dinner. Chester class decided to make pigs in blankets. Below are some pictures of our completed hoop and pigs.

We created Christmas cards that were shaped like Christmas crackers. We hope you enjoyed the cards your children made for you.

In our English lessons, we focused on poetry and specifically at winter poetry. We thought about how poems use senses to describe what is happening. We also looked at an exisiting poem and worked in groups to read and perform them with actions. We thought carefully about how to use our voices so that everyone else could hear us.

The whole school participated in Christmas Jumper Day. Here are some pictures our us in our Christmas jumpers.

Miss Chute read us 'The Night Before Christmas' and we listened by closing our eyes and imagining what we could hear. We then drew what we could see in our imagination.
