English
In English this term, we have been looking at the features of biographies. We were so inspired by the biography on Spiderman that we went on to create our own; linking to Black History Month. We wrote about Amanda Gorman's life.
We were inspired by her famous quote: “There is always light. If only we're brave enough to see it. If only we're brave enough to be it.” Have a look at some of our work below:
Art
In art, we were inspired so much by Amanda Gorman's that we decided to create a piece of artwork based on her book 'Change Sings'. This book follows the musical story of a young girl who holds the power to change the world within herself, and inspires others to see the same power within themselves. Have a look at our artwork below:
Maths
In maths, we have been multiplying numbers, including decimals. This was tricky as we had to make sure each place value column lined up with one another. Once we had mastered the fluency side, we went on to solve some problem style questions based on everyday situations.
Science
In science, we have been looking at living things and their habitats. We classified different plants and animals according the characteristics they had. At the end of the term we wrote a letter to Mrs Headman outlining what we wanted to achieve in relation to helping the animals and plants.
Thank you for taking the time to find out about all the exciting things Canterbury class have been doing.
