September Blog

We are really excited to share with you the learning we have done this month!!

Come take a look at the things we have been up to.

CCCS

We began our month by creating our own classroom rules to help to keep us happy and safe in Year 2. We have also looked at the rights of a child and created posters showing what rights we have.

We have now started to look at our local area of Erith. We have looked at historical pictures of Erith which we really enjoyed and then we created our own maps of Erith.

English

In English we have been exploring fairy tales including Cinderella and Jack and the Beanstalk.

We created a story board of Cinderella to re-cap and re-tell the tale.

Within our stories we focussed on practising using our capital letters and full stops and also recapped the -ed suffix for the past tense.

We then took on the role of Jack and began to explore the story of Jack and the beanstalk. This led us to writing our own diary entries as Jack.

Maths

In maths we have been looking at our 2,5- and 10-times tables and have increased our knowledge of these through our timed speed tests.

We have looked at place value of numbers and continued to develop our adding and subtracting skills. We have been using pictorial methods of Base 10 to help us.

We hope you enjoyed reading looking at our work this month.

Miss Goodson :)
