St Paul's June Blog 2022

Welcome to St Paul's June blog. As the end of the year is approaching we have been very busy with our learning!

English

In English we have been focusing on a fantasy story called 'Reilly'. We learnt about his fantasy world, including flying broomsticks and shopping trolleys before we created our own stories. We first innovated the story where we had Reilly stealing another item, such as a magical wheelie bin. After this, we invented our own fantasy worlds that Reilly falls into as he goes through a portal. Some of decided he had fallen into a jungle and was being chased by a hungry yeti, before he came back to the real world to find something even more scary.. the piercing glare of his mum!

Maths

In Maths we have continued revisiting topics from throughout the year. Most recently, we have looked at presenting and interpreting data. We have worked really hard at answering questions about different sets of data and remember what to look for, such as the scale and the labels on the axis. We then created our own graphs using our own data, such as our favourite subject. Computing narrowly beat Art!

Art

In Art we have been practising sketching by creating different dimensions. Linking to our local study in History, we sketched an picture of Erith Pier. We had to focus on the middle and orthogonal lines to create the illusion.

Sports day

We had an amazing time at Sports Day! We started with the races where everyone represented their houses. We then moved onto different events as a class where we did really well at all the activities, including the high jump and javelin. We celebrated Medway's win and the rivalry will continue next year.
