Summer 2

We have been really enjoying our last few weeks in Christ Church! We are revisiting all of the things we have learnt to make sure we are very confident in our learning, and that we are ready to move into Year 3. Our butterfly has been 'The Show Must Go On' which fits in very nicely with the fact that we get to go and watch the Year 6 production 'The Lion King!'. We look forward to the next few weeks where we get to plan our own learning during WOW Week, and then the last three days of Year 2 where we will get to meet our new teacher in Year 3 and look forward to the summer holidays!

Sports Day

We enjoyed taking part in Sports Day this year, and all the different fun activities there were. At first we did a carousel of activities, and then we took part in the races which included a sack race, egg and spoon race and bean bag balance.

Science Investigation

In Science, we have been investigating materials. We worked as a team to use a range of different materials to make a boat. We tried to take risks by using materials which we may not normally use to see what would happen, and challenged ourselves to reinforce these materials with others.

Maths

In Maths, we have been practising partitioning and adding 2 digit numbers. We used the dienes to helps us to split each of our numbers into tens and ones.

English

In English, we have been reading the book 'Leon and the Place Between'. Leon believes in magic, but his brothers do not. Leon gets the chance to experience magic at a circus show, by one of his favourite magicians, and snaps up the chance. However, Leon ends up in a place he has never been before, the place between...

We enjoyed reading about this book and stopped at different parts to carry out activities such as hot seating and conscience alley, where Leon walked through an alley of people telling them whether they think he should step into the box or not.
