01/10/2021 Worcester Class

In Worcester class we have been exploring fantasy writing. We began by watching ‘Avatar’, a story set in Pandora. It is about the Na'vi, beings who appear primitive but are highly evolved. Jake Sully, a paralyzed former Marine, becomes mobile again through one such Avatar and falls in love with a Na'vi woman. As a bond with her grows, he is drawn into a battle for the survival of her world.

We began by reading a model text, identifying the key features of a narrative and creating story maps. Then we focused our use of expanded noun phrases and parenthesis to add exciting details. We also learned how to use dialogue to move the story on in fascinating ways. We used our ideas to create our own stories set in Pandora.

Immerse in some of our amazing stories.
